Cheyenne Thornton has loved reading since she was young and started creating ideas of her own for future stories after she was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 8. What started as a way to escape the hard of her young life grew into a passion to write for those who want something deep and substantial while still being hopeful, and easy enough to get lost in for a while. In her spare time, you can find Cheyenne walking her dogs, helping her younger siblings with school work, or listening to cello music and exploring her imagination.

About Her Short Story
Waking the Little Lights by Cheyenne Thornton
Moonlily wants nothing more than to become a Lantern Bearer and wake the fireflies so that they can light the meadow, keeping the other pixies safe from night critters while they harvest food. After completing her training, she is sent out on her first night to wake the fireflies. But Moonlily is smaller and has weaker wings than her peers, which she thinks she must fly like them to complete her task and be useful to her community. With her trusty jumping mouse friend, Red, Moonlily must venture through the forest of night critters to the lightning tree of fireflies. Can she complete her task without the use of her wings?
