The Friendship Mosaic by Mia Katherine
Sixteen-year-old Ruby Northrop is determined to give her best friend Camila a birthday gift as special as her. Thanks to an oceanside birthday trip with Camila’s family, Ruby has the perfect plan: to craft a mosaic out of seashells so Camila can remember this vacation forever.
Yet in order to gather enough seashells for the mosaic, Ruby must face her longstanding fear of crabs head-on. Will she let her phobia prevent her from completing the gift, or will she push past her trepidation and finish the mosaic in time for Camila’s birthday? What is more important to her: fear or friendship?
