Discover the Next Generation of Christian Storytellers…

Featuring Rebecca Washburn

Rebecca Washburn spent the last of her childhood facing the invisible struggles of chronic health conditions. Inspired by these hidden battles, she writes stories filled with adventure, hope, and family for those who lost hope but kept going. When she’s not writing, you’ll find her playing a game with her family, snuggling her Tigger collection, or staring at the beautiful Rockies and wishing she was climbing them. She also enjoys spreading her love for books through her bookish earrings and knickknacks business, Sculpted Stories Co.
About Her Short Story
Lara must hide her tattoos that mark her for what she is, someone with powers. Broadcasting her powers could get her banished, like her mother, or killed. She’s kept her powers hidden while protecting her brother and thus her village from the terrible storms that plague their tropical home.
One day while sailing with her brother, they’re caught in a storm heading straight for their village. If she stops it with her powers, everyone will see. Will she risk everyone’s lives to stay hidden—or will she embrace her powers, and the consequences?
