Discover the Next Generation of Christian Storytellers…

The sixth edition of Voices of the Future weaves together short stories of whimsy and warriors in a memorable and heartwarming collection. Experience the next generation’s creativity and vision through tales from rising young creatives.

Featuring Abigail G. Smith

Abigail Smith started writing in 2019, on a Valentine’s Day where her only date was her laptop and the stories swirling in her head. After that experimental novel, her love for the art grew, prompting her to join The Author Conservatory. Now, she soaks in whatever she can learn and writes stories that capture the beauty of family and human relationships; she’s always carried empathy for others and their stories. In her free time, she makes matcha and coffee, talks endlessly about her favorite characters, and tries to prevent her wild dog from destroying the country.

About Her Short Story

Never Perfect by Abigail G. Smith

All Marley wants is a perfect Thanksgiving with her fiancé’s parents. After months of planning a trip out to his hometown in Vermont for the holiday, things are finally falling in place. Meeting his family is scary enough, but her vision for a perfect holiday is soon thwarted by his little sister, Alice. For whatever reason, Alice can’t stand Marley. Marley tries desperately to bond with Alice, but nothing seems to work. Will she connect with her future sister-in-law, or will this holiday be anything but perfect?
