Discover the Next Generation of Christian Storytellers…
Featuring Caleb Renich

Caleb Renich grew up on both sides of the ocean, encountering a world that was both harrowing and fantastical through missionary work. Craving stories that do justice to the authentic joy and sorrow of following Christ, Caleb writes theologically rich epic fantasy stories that explore God’s nature through magical worlds. Now a proud Nashville resident, he spends his time reading massive epic fantasy doorstoppers (it’s for research), wearing flip flops out of season, and trying to find just the right word for “things.”

About His Short Story
Captain of the Moonlight by Caleb Renich
Ulysses Casteleon has not seen the sun in nine days. When his mentor and former captain of the naval vessel Moonlight is called away, Ulysses must finish his captain’s mission delivering medicine to an isolated island. But when a fog bank swallows his ship and refuses to lift, Ulysses must reckon with the burden of leadership and try to fill the shoes of his beloved teacher. The smallest mistake could cost the respect of the crew, or worse, destroy the medicine stored in the Moonlight’s hold. With his crew stretched to their breaking point and dissension brewing, Ulysses must earn the trust of his men. But how can he earn their trust if he doesn’t even trust himself?
