Badgers and Birthdays by Hannah Grace Buzzell
Eight-year-old Percy has three favorite things: birthdays, flowers, and his pet badger named Carl. Oh and his mama (she’s his absolute favoritest.) With her birthday coming up, Percy is determined to get her the best gift ever. A store bought sewing basket.
Heading into town with thirteen pennies, Carl, and his older siblings by his side, Percy searches the shops. Surely the perfect sewing basket is just waiting for him to find it.
But when things don’t end up like Percy expects, he must decide what makes a gift perfect. And maybe, just maybe, it’ll include all three of his favorite things.
