Since then, Hannah has not only read tens of historical fiction books, but she’s also written several of her own. Hannah’s love for history has led to her writing authentically from any time period and creating characters who battle the hardships of everyday life and still shine with victory and sacrifice in the end. With her stories, she hopes to inspire young adults through forgotten history and remind them that a victorious and hope-filled life is possible. In her very minimal spare time when she’s not writing, Hannah can be found bribing her sister to draw her characters, touring historical sites with loved ones, or curling up reading beside her cats.

The Flaming Pudding by Hannah R. Smith
In Manchester, England, 1910, twelve-year-old Helen Bell dreams of making the perfect Christmas pudding. After a disastrous baking experience in school, Helen knows better than to bake with anyone but her Uncle Charlie. When her uncle is injured and is unable to bake, Helen is the only one who can make the perfect pudding. But how can working with her messy brother, Paul, bring about perfection—and avoid the pudding bursting in flames?
