Discover the Next Generation of Christian Storytellers…

Featuring Johanna Anaya

Johanna Anaya draws from her Latin American heritage, writing flavor-filled contemporary stories to help you escape from the mundane of life, rich with descriptions of food. When she’s not writing a cookbook disguised as a novel, you can find her talking to her Schnoodle pup, Rufus T. Watson, while sipping a matcha latte or engrossed in a new hobby or art project.

About Her Short Story
If We Had Wings by Johanna Anaya
Rosa and her family have had the tradition of releasing butterflies every September for as long as she can remember. Her grandpa had started the tradition before she was born, and it just stuck. One year after her Grandpa’s death, she wonders if her parents even remember. Rosa decides to take it upon herself to continue the family tradition and drives the butterflies to the beach house. Except she forgot to check the gas gauge, so now she and the butterflies are stranded on the side of the highway and must face her fear and call her parents. At least now they can release the butterflies together…right?
