Discover the Next Generation of Christian Storytellers…
Featuring Lexi Jo Heuser
Lexi Jo Heuser was raised on a ranch in a tiny cow town in Colorado. She fell in love with reading in second grade, and now crafts adventurous young adult and middle grade fantasy novels with western flair and plenty of animal sidekicks. When she’s not working as a vet tech, you’ll find her astride a horse, performing or teaching trick riding. Her favorite way to spend an afternoon is chasing cows or hanging off her horse upside down.
About Her Short Story
Twelve-year-old, super-powered Harley isn’t a fan of the whole superhero gig. In fact, she’d like nothing more than for her superhero father to hang up that cape and retire to a ranch in Colorado. Even his bribe of a sidekick, a talking, teleporting pug named Peanut Butter, isn’t enough to make her accept his dangerous job.
But when someone tries to steal Peanut Butter from her, she discovers a string of sidekick pet thefts. A reluctant Harley decides to investigate, and what she finds is bigger than anyone expected. Harley will have to decide if she is brave enough to use her power to take a stand for what’s right.
