Discover the Next Generation of Christian Storytellers…

The sixth edition of Voices of the Future weaves together short stories of whimsy and warriors in a memorable and heartwarming collection. Experience the next generation’s creativity and vision through tales from rising young creatives.

Featuring Naomi Sowell

Naomi Sowell spent thirteen years touring across the country and Eastern Europe as a professional musician with her family. Her unique life experiences, including grief and loss, have fueled her passion for healing through the power of storytelling. She writes gripping stories you can walk through hell with because darkness doesn’t have a chance in the end. When she’s not crafting snarky characters or working on her marketing business, Naomi is probably going on another adventure, fully caffeinated, with her twin sister or a close friend, getting distracted by the sky, or enjoying a good book, movie, or TV show.

About Her Short Story

Good Tidings & Twin Sisters by Naomi Sowell

Does growing up have to mean growing apart?

Ever since Jordyn’s older sister, Eryn, faded out of her life after dating and marriage, Jordyn has struggled to accept changes in relationships. Now, after returning home for the holidays from her first mini-term studying abroad at the University of Tennessee, she senses a similar distance growing between her and her twin sister, Madelyn. To reconnect at their sister dinner, Jordyn plans to recreate her favorite meals from Florence, Italy, to share with Madi. But a welcome-home surprise gone wrong involving Madi’s new boyfriend forces Jordyn to confront her past with Eryn and decide how to move forward in the present. Can twin sisters stay close while their lives pull them in different directions?
