Discover the Next Generation of Christian Storytellers…

Featuring Sophia Jones

As a young girl, Sophia refused to read books that didn’t involve sword fighting. Today, after facing her own battles with depression and anxiety, she has a deep passion for writing stories about characters who show courage and determination in the face of challenges—characters who inspire the hero within. A fan of Tolkien’s works, Sophia is upholding the tradition of fantasy languages by developing her own, using inspiration from her studies of Mandarin, Russian, and Spanish. You can find her on a ranch in Texas singing with her six younger sisters and perusing her tea collection.

About Her Short Story
Isander’s Arrow
When eleven year-old Tiago tries to impress his cousin by shooting a sacred arrow, it flies too far and lands in an enclosed garden. But retrieving the arrow proves to be more dangerous than Tiago thought, as the garden is full of fierce banana dragons. In the end, Tiago learns that the true meaning of bravery isn’t about doing big or impressive things, and that sometimes being honest is the scariest—and bravest—thing a person can do.
